The Happy Weight Loss Method: A Mindset Revolution That Helps You Lose 50 Kilograms in a Year
Let me reiterate: losing weight can be enjoyable!
The most common misconception about weight loss is the preconceived notion that "weight loss is painful."
If you constantly think about the pain, you'll long for the diet to end quickly; in pursuit of better results, you'll endure even more extreme methods. This leads to increasing endurance, and when that endurance reaches its limit, you'll give up halfway, and you'll even regain all the weight you lost, resulting in a rebound. This is a classic chain reaction of failure.
Can't you lose weight without enduring all this?
No way!
Once you start dieting, well-meaning people around you will offer all sorts of information, such as, "Just losing weight isn't enough; you also need to exercise to build muscle," "Calculating calories is too troublesome, I can't do it," "It's very easy to rebound after a failed diet, and you'll become even fatter," etc.
This information is generally not wrong. However, for someone who really wants to lose weight, it's all just pointless nonsense.
The information I just mentioned, and most of the popular weight loss methods, are actually aimed at people who are already slim and want to maintain their figure.
Eating a salad for dinner and doing an hour of cardio every day—if you stick to that, you won't gain weight in the first place. People who can be satisfied with just a salad for dinner and some beans, vegetables, and fish at every meal will naturally be slim! For those of us who can't lose weight even if we want to, listening to these health-conscious people's suggestions is completely futile.
People who are already slim just need to maintain their figure, while we're aiming for weight loss methods that can make us lose 10, 20, or 30 kilograms. The two are fundamentally different.
Similarly, the exercise-based weight loss methods advocated by muscle-building enthusiasts, which emphasize "building muscle to boost basal metabolism," won't work.
Spending an hour running and exercising every day should lead to weight loss, right? I don't deny its effectiveness. In fact, I believe that spending an hour doing cardio every day will definitely lead to weight loss. However, everyone should ask themselves how long they can stick to it.
Let's assume you can lose weight by doing one hour of aerobic exercise every day. Then, once you stop exercising, the weight will rebound. And people who don't like exercise in the first place simply can't maintain it.
Weight loss should be simple: simply set your goal as losing weight. More importantly, it should be something you can stick to for six months, or even a year. Leaving aside those tricks that claim you lose 1 or 3 kilograms, for my "super weight loss method" that allows me to lose over 10 kilograms at once, the most important thing is making consistency possible.
Actually, no matter what kind of weight loss method it is, you can lose some weight quickly at the beginning. Any weight loss book that's been published and sold has some effect. Following the instructions in the book will definitely lead to weight loss. But the problem is, these efforts can only be sustained for 1-3 months, after which there's a plateau, and everyone gets frustrated.
Chapter 3 (Part 4): Want to give up? First ask yourself how not to give up.
The author analyzes common excuses for giving up: dieting is too hard, being persuaded to stop, illness, travel, and decreased social interaction, and provides solutions for each. She suggests overcoming burnout by "taking a short break from dieting" and "rewarding yourself," while also getting friends involved in exercise.

The author continues to share methods for targeted weight loss: slimming the waist with waist twisters, side leg raises, and virtual hula hoops; slimming the thighs with proper running techniques, cycling, and wall leg raises; and slimming the calves with toe raises, massage, and virtual jump rope. For facial slimming, regular beauty treatments, fist massages, and oral practice are recommended.
